On 13th September 2025, a workshop on discipline was organized for children at the Gramaabhivruddhi Sangha, Edurupadav, under the leadership of Dharma Jyothi Social Centre, Vamanjoor. The session was conducted by Mrs. Renita Lewis, who highlighted the vital role that discipline plays in shaping an individual’s life. She emphasized that instilling discipline from a young age helps children lead structured, responsible, and meaningful lives. A total of 39 tuition children actively participated and benefited from this informative and inspiring workshop.
On 18th September 2025, a workshop on the importance of nutrition and the role of adults in child development was organized at Anganwadi Centre Bangambila Deralakatte under the joint collaboration of Dharma Jyothi Social Centre, Vamanjoor, and School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore. The resource person, Mrs. Renita, explained in detail how nutritious food plays a vital role in children's growth and development, and how adults should care for and observe children effectively. President of the Balavikas Centre, Mr. Praveen, local health officer Rashmi, President of the local Panchayat, and ASHA workers were present at the event. A total of 42 young children and adults attended the program.
On 20th September 2025, Dharma Jyothi Social Centre organized a "Cooking without Fire" competition at Gramaabhivriddhi Sanga, Edurupadav. The event aimed to encourage creativity, teamwork, and awareness about nutritious eating among children. A total of 45 tuition children enthusiastically participated in the competition. They were divided into five groups, with each group preparing different types of nutritious and tasty dishes without using fire. The participants showcased impressive culinary skills by using fresh ingredients and innovative presentation ideas. The event was not only fun but also educational, helping children understand the importance of healthy eating and teamwork. Overall, the competition was a great success, and the efforts of all participants were appreciated and encouraged.
On 30th September 2025, Dharma Jyothi Social Centre organized a Cyber Crime Awareness Program at the D.K.R.D.S. Centre in Belthangady. The primary objective of the program was to educate children and parents about the growing threats of cybercrime and how to stay safe in the digital world. The event was graced by the presence of Sr. Veera Monis, the Director of Dharma Jyothi Social Centre. The session was led by the resource person, Mrs. Renita, who gave an in-depth presentation on various types of cybercrimes, such as online fraud, identity theft, cyber bullying, and misuse of social media. Mrs. Renita also shared practical tips on how to protect oneself from cybercrimes, a total of 156 participants, including children and their parents, actively took part in the session.
